“First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.” — late Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi
This quote by the late Indian leader, ironically, reflects the attitude of plenty leading up to the original Patriots’ Day civic holiday. Patriots’ Day is a holiday celebrated on the third Monday in April to commemorate the battle of Lexington and Concord. Patriot’s Day is Monday, April 19, 2010 this year which is almost perfectly aligned with the modern-day tea party rallies that are going strong in Michigan and across the country.
After attending tea parties in Clinton Township, Lansing and Port Huron, Michigan this past week, I reflected on the positive experience despite the negative and false reports from the main stream media. I wrote the following review and tried to capture the heart of America and the intent behind the Tea Party Movement in a few words along with a slide show.
