Please support OUR troops!   :-)

I Stand Before You

I stand before you all today
But not one eye can see my way

My time arrived, to leave this earth
A fact so planned, to every birth

It happened where I had to go
My torch for life was so aglow

I transferred while in uniform
Protecting freedom, through a storm

Should I resent I died for you
Not on my life, red white and blue

Please help my family through each day
Tell all my friends, try not to stray

And of the country I did love
Do think of me, through God above

Your memories, brought forth this day
Send love to us, who could not stay

“You know the rest. In the books you have read

  • the British Regulars fired and fled,—
How the farmers gave them ball for ball,
From behind each fence and farmyard wall,
Chasing the redcoats down the lane,
Then crossing the fields to emerge again
Under the trees at the turn of the road,
And only pausing to fire and load.
    So through the night rode Paul Revere;
And so through the night went his cry of alarm
To every Middlesex village and farm,—
A cry of defiance, and not of fear,
A voice in the darkness, a knock at the door,
And a word that shall echo for evermore!
For, borne on the night-wind of the Past,
Through all our history, to the last,
In the hour of darkness and peril and need,
The people will waken and listen to hear
The hurrying hoof-beats of that steed,
And the midnight message of Paul Revere.”

    Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The National Day of Prayer and the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere are a pivitol part of our heritage. Since the first call to prayer in 1775, when the Continental Congress asked the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation, the call to prayer has continued through our history, including President Lincoln’s proclamation of a day of “humiliation, fasting, and prayer” in 1863. In e, a s resolution by Congress, signed by President Truman, declared an annual, national day of prayer. In 1988, the law was amended and signed by President Reagan, permanently setting the day as the first Thursday of every May with numerous events going on nationwide.  http://nationaldayofprayer.org/about/find-an-event/    Each year, the president signs a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. Last year, all 50 state governors plus the governors of several U.S. territories signed similar proclamations.   Click to read full article…

“Christmas in Bethlehem. The ancient dream: a cold, clear night made brilliant by a glorious star, the smell of incense, shepherds and wise men falling to their knees in adoration of the sweet baby, the incarnation of perfect love.”~ Lucinda Franks

I recently heard a story of a woman who was Christmas shopping with her two children. After many hours of looking at row after row of toys and everything else imaginable, and after hours of hearing both her children asking for everything they saw on those many shelves, she finally made it to the elevator with her two kids.

She was feeling what so many of us feel during the holiday season time
of the year. Overwhelming pressure to go to every party, every
housewarming, taste all the holiday food and treats, getting that perfect gift for
every single person on our shopping list, making sure we don’t forget anyone
on our card list, and the pressure of making sure we respond to everyone
who sent us a card.

Finally, the elevator doors opened and there was already a crowd in the car. She pushed her way into the car and dragged her two kids in with her and all the bags of stuff. When the doors closed she couldn’t take it anymore and stated, “Whoever started this whole Christmas thing should be found, strung up and shot.”

From the back of the car, everyone heard a quiet calm voice respond, “Don’t worry we already crucified him.” For the rest of the trip down, the elevator was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.

Don’t forget this year to keep the One who started this whole Christmas thing in your every thought, deed, purchase, and word.  If we all did it, just think of how different this whole world would be.

Let us all remember the ‘true’ meaning of Christmas and not allow selfishness, greed, commercialism and materialism to defy this sacred holiday.

Wishing everyone a joyous Christmas and Holiday season!

Spread the Love and Cheer….  :-)

This video represents a wonderful example of God’s Magnificent Artistry, especially during the Holy Season.  This amazing video was made for use in a message by Pastor Seidman of the Branch Church. The song is “Creation Calls” by Brian Doerksen and video footage is from “Planet Earth” the BBC 2007 series.  Branch Church is to be credited for the production of this video.  It is a bit long, however, well worth a few moments of your time – enjoy!  :-)

“Marketing is the process of persuading others that what you have is what they’ ve always wanted.” ~  Michael Stelzner

Just because you have You Tube or other videos streaming on the net, does not mean that people will continue to flock and view your content after the initial thrill is gone.   With just a bit of effort, you can bring videos back to life with more views.   According to Social Media Examiner,  by implementing the following  fab five simple marketing steps below, you will be able to breathe life back into your existing videos and dredge them up from the digital crypt while enhancing SEO at the same time….

#1 Action-Step: Identify Your Keywords

Reworking keywords is the best place to start when working with your existing videos.

Using Google’s Keyword Research Tool, you can quickly uncover the exact questions, topics and issues your buyers are searching for, and you can market your videos accordingly.

Let’s start by picking just one of your videos. Did you use a highly searched keyword in the title and description? If not, add it to the beginning of your video’s title, your description and your tags. It’s OK to change your video title information at any time if the video has not been “pulling its weight.”

Once you’re logged into YouTube, simply click the “Edit” button above your video and you can change, tweak and improve your video information in seconds!

video sales letter
This video is ranked #1 on YouTube for “Video Salesletter.” The keyword is in the title AND description.

Do this properly, and your video will start to get ranked at the top of YouTube and Google for your keyword. And this will obviously result in more targeted views!

#2 Action-Step: 3x Call to Action

If your video does not tell people what to do or where to go after the video ends, your viewers are simply going to move on and forget about you completely. You need totell people precisely what to do next and exactly how to do it.

Here are three ways you can add a call to action to each of your existing videos to convert each view into highly targeted traffic.

  1. Use the Call-to-Action Overlay: This powerful, fully customized banner ad allows you to direct viewers straight to your site by clicking on the button right inside your video. It takes a few minutes to set this up, but it’s totally worth the extra effort!
    call-to-action overlay
The call-to-action overlay.  To add YouTube’s call-to-action overlay to all of your videos, sign up here.
  2.  Put your domain in the description: Don’t forget to add your domain name (with the “http://”) at the beginning of your description. It is simply another place people can click to go directly to your website.
Notice the full domain name is at the beginning of the video description.

To add your URL, simply click the “Edit Video” button at the top of your video’s page once you’re logged into your account.

  3.  Add Annotations: Annotations can be extremely beneficial if used properly. They take about 30 seconds to create, and can do wonders for your videos. You can’t turn annotations into clickable links that direct visitors to your website, but you can get people to subscribe, like your video or watch the next one in your playlist.
    annotations
Use annotations to direct viewers to your next video.

Adding annotations is fun, easy and very powerful.  Once you’re logged into your YouTube account, simply click the “Edit Annotations” button directly above your video.

#3 Action-Step: Upload Your Transcript

99% of video marketers simply fail to do this enhancing strategy!  Head on over to Fiverr.com or pay 12-year-old Billy down the street to write out a complete transcription of your video and save it as a .txt file.

Then, upload the transcript to YouTube so they can sync it with your video. Once you’re logged into your YouTube account, click the “Edit Captions” button directly above your video and follow YouTube’s instructions for uploading.

Using magical software, YouTube will now index every single word of your transcript (your video’s dialog) and incorporate it into its search algorithms. You’ve just put your video SEO (search engine optimization) on steroids!

add a caption track
Uploading your transcript is as simple as selecting the .txt file and uploading it to YouTube.

Most people will never upload a transcript, and YouTube is forced to determine what a video’s topic is based solely on the video’s headline and description. You’ll have the upper hand with a complete transcript of your entire video!

#4 Action-Step: Get Backlinks

Anyone who has ever had experience with SEO knows that Google loves backlinks to your website. This same concept applies to YouTube and ranking your videos at the top of search results.

Whether you hire someone to do this for you, use a service or do it yourself, adding a few backlinks or inbound links to your video AND your channel URL will make a considerable difference in where your videos will rank, and ultimately how many views you’ll receive.

getting to first spot
Getting to the #1 spot in YouTube search results can make a difference of several thousand views!

#5 Action Step: Promote the Video

Once you’ve completed all of the steps above, it’s time to go back to your sphere of influence and share your updated video with your friends and followers.

Embedding  videos on blogs  and sharing the blog post with  email subscribers and  social media followers is very effective.

share your videos
Remember to share your videos on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

Make sure to include a simple call to action and ask your friends and fans to share the video with their friends for that extra boost. This is the easiest step, but if you want more views, sometimes you’ve just got to ask!

Final Thoughts…

At the end of the day, the time, effort and energy you put into creating an incredible “video of value” is far more extensive than sending out a quick tweet or updating your Facebook profile.

Your video marketing efforts should never be in vain, and if you spend a little time on the “video aftermath” (everything you need to do AFTER your video is on YouTube), you’ll begin to see your video work for you for a long time to come!

Take the time to revamp all of your existing videos using these five simple action-steps. As long as you have created a “video of value” that is worth seeing and worth sharing, the views will happen!

A man’s honor begins at home…

I went to see the premiere of this heartfelt movie over the weekend and was very impressed.  This movie dredged up emotion, provided some comedy and even showcased some action-packed scenes for the guys.  I highly recommend this insightful and real flick that can be enjoyed by all….  Two thumbs up!

From the creators of Fireproof, this movie is about four men with one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.

While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they’re quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark.

When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God … and to their children?

Filled with action-packed police drama, COURAGEOUS is the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures, the moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Riveted moviegoers will once again find themselves laughing, crying, and cheering as they are challenged and inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children.

Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That’s courageous….

Kudos to Alex Kendrick for producing another inspiring movie that will touch the heart strings of all while creating awareness of some serious issues of the day.

After the widespread media bashing of Michigan’s gem, Grand Rapids, over the past months, many citizens were appalled and took matters into their own hands to create this inspirational and humerous video rebuttal.

CBS  is at least promoting this video and reporting it in a positive manner – nothing like being named America’s foremost dying city to really invigorate the music scene. We all enjoyed the epic lip-dub performance put on by Grand Rapids, Michigan back in May – their response to topping Newsweek’s list of “America’s Dying Cities.” Now those wacky Grand Rapiders are at it again, and they’re kicking it old school.

Presenting the Clark Retirement Community of Grand Rapids and their rendition of smooth jazz crooner Michael Buble.

The residents of CRC had a little help from the Film & Production program at Grand Valley State University. The collaboration yields one of the best Grand Rapids-based lip-dups  all summer. Definitely in the top two!

“We have to get to a place where every part of our society is cognizant of the kinds of threats that are out there, and empowered to take some common sense steps to counter that.” – Janet Napolitano

Homeland Security head, Janet Napolitano, continued her campus tour in a recent stop at NYU Law School where she gave a speech about the state of security as we approach the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and following the announced death of Osama bin Laden.
In the video below Napolitano lays out a sweeping surveillance agenda that includes citizen spies who have a mission of “shared responsibility” to thwart “Core” al-Qaeda, foreign groups “inspired by” al-Qaeda, as well as domestic “extremist” groups, which apparently include an increasing number of plots by U.S. citizens.  She added that “there is no single portrait” of today’s potential terrorist, citing recruiting tactics “including Hip Hop videos, if you can imagine that.”  And, naturally, cyberspace. Each of the four key ways that she stated as critical to Homeland Security’s mission will widen the Stasi-style network of unpaid employees of the State virtually deputized to spy on their neighbor in the private and public sector and issue reports to the DHS federal security matrix.

  1. Strengthen the nation’s 72 fusion centers, which coordinate with local police, businesses, churches, universities and more in a cooperative effort to federalize local communities.
  2. Continue the expanded use of Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), initially used for IRS reporting and for businesses to alert government officials to large cash purchases at their establishments.  The new initiative will cover all sectors that will share back to DHS.
  3. Launch the National Terrorism Advisory System to replace the general color-coded terror alert system and set up a “base level” high risk, which will be augmented with specific messages.  One component of this new system that she does not address is that it will be directed toward the individual by utilizing a text messaging system, as well as social networks to issue government statements and warnings (or propaganda).
  4. Continue expansion of a national “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign that began with the NY Metropolitan Transit Authority, and kicked off at private businesses likeWal-Mart whereby people can receive ongoing messages via telescreens in government buildings, private businesses and public areas, then report on anyone for any reason without consequence for false reports.

She also predictably suggests that the counter-terrorism apparatus is a useful tool that can save citizens in need of rescue from natural disasters.  ”More likely, it is the roll-out of soft martial law that will create a permanent state of fear, suspicion, false arrests, police brutality, and the end of the American republic in the same fashion that led to the end of every society that chose the path of security over freedom.”  Jason Rink TLV

This saga continues….

This humorous satirical re-make of the popular “Candyman” tune from the 70s by Tim Hawkins really says it all. Sad, but, unfortunately true. Turn up the volume and enjoy the show… :-)

Please keep this blue ribbon going and pay it forward….. Thank You! :-)

As reported by CNS News, In what the White House calls a push for transparency, a pending executive order would require companies doing business with the federal government to disclose political contributions to independent groups, but would not place the same requirement on public employee unions or federal grant recipients that typically donate to Democrats.

Entitled the “Disclosure of Political Spending By Government Contractors,” the order would implement parts of the DISCLOSE Act, which failed to get through Congress last year. The legislation sought to restrict campaign speech after the landmark Citizens United vs. Federal Elections Commission U.S. Supreme Court ruling that upheld the right of corporations and unions to donate to campaigns.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed Monday that work is underway on the draft order, and linked the move to President Obama’s stated commitment to transparency.

“It’s fully acknowledged that there is a process underway; a draft is just that,” Carney told CNSNews.com. “It could change as it makes its way through the process. But what the president is committed to is transparency, and he certainly thinks that the American taxpayer should know where his or her money is going.  So I — this is part of the President’s commitment to transparency.”

Government contractors are already required to disclose contributions to political candidates. This executive order would require the disclosure of any donations to independent groups, where conservative groups outspent liberal ones in the 2010 election.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the executive order would stifle free speech.

“Democracy is compromised when individuals and small businesses fear reprisal, or expect favor from the federal government as a result of their political associations,” McConnell said in a statement last week, after reports of the draft emerged.

“So recent press reports about an unprecedented draft Executive Order raise troubling concerns about an effort to silence or intimidate political adversaries’ speech through the government contracting system,” he said. “If true, the proposed effort would represent an outrageous and anti-democratic abuse of executive branch authority. No administration should use the federal contracting system for campaign purposes.”

The DISCLOSE Act was pushed by Sen. Charles Schumer (D.-N.Y.), and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.). Announcing the bill at a Feb. 11, 2010 press conference, Schumer said that its provisions “will make them [corporations] think twice before spending unlimited sums to influence elections. The deterrent effect should not be underestimated.”

Hans A. von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, was skeptical of Carney’s assertion that the president was merely committed to transparency.

“If transparency is the true goal, why isn’t the proposed executive order covering any outside entity that gets federal money? It only applies to government contractors, not grant recipients like Planned Parenthood,” he told CNSNews.com. “Public employee unions are also exempt from this order.”

Von Spakovsky, who was the first to report the existence of the draft executive order, on Pajamas Media last week, argued that the move would politicize the federal procurement process.

He is also troubled by the use of an executive order in this instance.

“This threatens the representational system,” he said. “The president wants to implement through the regulatory process what failed in Congress.”

The draft executive order would require government contractors to disclose:

– “All contributions or expenditures to or on behalf of federal candidates, parties or party committees made by the bidding entity, its directors or officers, or any affiliates or subsidiaries within its control.”

– “Any contributions made to third party entities with the intention or reasonable expectation that parties would use those contributions to make independent expenditures or electioneering communications.”

Obama has long railed against the Citizens United ruling. During his 2010 State of the Union speech he launched a verbal offensive against the Supreme Court, prompting a visible response from Justice Samuel Alito, who along with his colleagues were seated just feet from the podium.

Congress is currently embroiled in a funding fight over how much to spend on less than one-fifth of the federal budget for the next six months. Whether we cut $33 billion or $61 billion—that is, whether we shave 2% or 4% off of this year’s deficit—is important. It’s a sign that the election did in fact change the debate in Washington from how much we should spend to how much spending we should cut.

Steve Moore has the details on Rep. Paul Ryan’s plan to cut spending.

But this morning the new House Republican majority will introduce a budget that moves the debate from billions in spending cuts to trillions. America is facing a defining moment. The threat posed by our monumental debt will damage our country in profound ways, unless we act.

No one person or party is responsible for the looming crisis. Yet the facts are clear: Since President Obama took office, our problems have gotten worse. Major spending increases have failed to deliver promised jobs. The safety net for the poor is coming apart at the seams. Government health and retirement programs are growing at unsustainable rates. The new health-care law is a fiscal train wreck. And a complex, inefficient tax code is holding back American families and businesses.

The president’s recent budget proposal would accelerate America’s descent into a debt crisis. It doubles debt held by the public by the end of his first term and triples it by 2021. It imposes $1.5 trillion in new taxes, with spending that never falls below 23% of the economy. His budget permanently enlarges the size of government. It offers no reforms to save government health and retirement programs, and no leadership.

Our budget, which we call The Path to Prosperity, is very different. For starters, it cuts $6.2 trillion in spending from the president’s budget over the next 10 years, reduces the debt as a percentage of the economy, and puts the nation on a path to actually pay off our national debt. Our proposal brings federal spending to below 20% of gross domestic product (GDP), consistent with the postwar average, and reduces deficits by $4.4 trillion.

A study just released by the Heritage Center for Data Analysis projects that The Path to Prosperity will help create nearly one million new private-sector jobs next year, bring the unemployment rate down to 4% by 2015, and result in 2.5 million additional private-sector jobs in the last year of the decade. It spurs economic growth, with $1.5 trillion in additional real GDP over the decade. According to Heritage’s analysis, it would result in $1.1 trillion in higher wages and an average of $1,000 in additional family income each year.

Here are its major components:

• Reducing spending: This budget proposes to bring spending on domestic government agencies to below 2008 levels, and it freezes this category of spending for five years. The savings proposals are numerous, and include reforming agricultural subsidies, shrinking the federal work force through a sensible attrition policy, and accepting Defense Secretary Robert Gates’s plan to target inefficiencies at the Pentagon.

• Welfare reform: This budget will build upon the historic welfare reforms of the late 1990s by converting the federal share of Medicaid spending into a block grant that lets states create a range of options and gives Medicaid patients access to better care. It proposes similar reforms to the food-stamp program, ending the flawed incentive structure that rewards states for adding to the rolls. Finally, this budget recognizes that the best welfare program is one that ends with a job—it consolidates dozens of duplicative job-training programs into more accessible, accountable career scholarships that will better serve people looking for work.

As we strengthen and improve welfare programs for those who need them, we eliminate welfare for those who don’t. Our budget targets corporate welfare, starting by ending the conservatorship of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that is costing taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. It gets rid of the permanent Wall Street bailout authority that Congress created last year. And it rolls back expensive handouts for uncompetitive sources of energy, calling instead for a free and open marketplace for energy development, innovation and exploration.

• Health and retirement security: This budget’s reforms will protect health and retirement security. This starts with saving Medicare. The open-ended, blank-check nature of the Medicare subsidy threatens the solvency of this critical program and creates inexcusable levels of waste. This budget takes action where others have ducked. But because government should not force people to reorganize their lives, its reforms will not affect those in or near retirement in any way.

Starting in 2022, new Medicare beneficiaries will be enrolled in the same kind of health-care program that members of Congress enjoy. Future Medicare recipients will be able to choose a plan that works best for them from a list of guaranteed coverage options. This is not a voucher program but rather a premium-support model. A Medicare premium-support payment would be paid, by Medicare, to the plan chosen by the beneficiary, subsidizing its cost.

In addition, Medicare will provide increased assistance for lower-income beneficiaries and those with greater health risks. Reform that empowers individuals—with more help for the poor and the sick—will guarantee that Medicare can fulfill the promise of health security for America’s seniors.

We must also reform Social Security to prevent severe cuts to future benefits. This budget forces policy makers to work together to enact common-sense reforms. The goal of this proposal is to save Social Security for current retirees and strengthen it for future generations by building upon ideas offered by the president’s bipartisan fiscal commission.

• Budget enforcement: This budget recognizes that it is not enough to change how much government spends. We must also change how government spends. It proposes budget-process reforms—including real, enforceable caps on spending—to make sure government spends and taxes only as much as it needs to fulfill its constitutionally prescribed roles.

• Tax reform: This budget would focus on growth by reforming the nation’s outdated tax code, consolidating brackets, lowering tax rates, and assuming top individual and corporate rates of 25%. It maintains a revenue-neutral approach by clearing out a burdensome tangle of deductions and loopholes that distort economic activity and leave some corporations paying no income taxes at all.

This is America’s moment to advance a plan for prosperity. Our budget offers the nation a model of government that is guided by the timeless principles of the American idea: free-market democracy, open competition, a robust private sector bound by rules of honesty and fairness, a secure safety net, and equal opportunity for all under a limited constitutional government of popular consent.

We can reform government so that people don’t have to reorient their lives for less. We can grow our economy, promote opportunity, and encourage upward mobility. This budget is the new House majority’s answer to history’s call. It is now up to all of us to keep America exceptional.

Written by Mr. Ryan, a Republican via Wall Street Journal.  He represents Wisconsin’s first congressional district and serves as chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Detroit is in dire need of a ‘true’ Renaissance….

Please watch this clip of LOUDER THAN LOVE which is the story of the Grande Ballroom in Detroit Michigan.   This doc, Rocks!  The Grande Ballroom was the birthplace of the Detroit Rock Music Scene.  Bands like MC5, Iggy & The Stooges, Ted Nugent & The Amboy Dukes, Alice Cooper and many more got their start here. The Grande not only influenced local Detroit musicians but inspired bands from all over the US and Europe.   Legendary acts like Led Zeppelin, The Cream, BB King, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd and the Who graced the stage at the Grande on a regular basis.
While the west coast was groovin’ to the sounds of the “Summer of Love” in 1967, Detroit was pumping out a hard driving, gritty and raw sound that was “LOUDER THAN LOVE”  in the motor city.   Legendary sounds of Detroit will never die….  To learn more please visit:  http://thegrandeballroomstory.com

Here is another video which is a compilation of the long documentary, Detroit City in Ruins, which was produced in the early 2000′s.  Detroit was once a beautiful, thriving city that had architecture and culture that was unsurpassed.  It is truly a tragedy that Detroit has decayed so much over the past few decades….  :(

Congressional Squatters Making Our House Their Home? Dozens of U.S. congressmen, both Republican and Democrat, have been ‘sleeping- over’ in their offices for decades to save money, oftentimes, appearing  like they are being ‘frugal’  to their constituents, despite their annual salaries of $174,000 plus Cadillac benefit packages of $40,000 +???   Should this bunking be debunked or is it just much ado about nothing?  Please watch this video from the Today Show recently and take the poll below – you decide….  :-)

I recommend this Vlog series produced by my friend, Darrin Moore.  He recently visited Austria on a quest to find Hayek’s (Friedrich August von Hayek, was an Austrian-born economist and philosopher best known for his defense of classical liberalism and free-market capitalism) treasure and more…. We both share a deep passion for liberty, reason and books – this video series is a beautiful work of art/history and I want to share it with all. Congratulations on this passionate and meaningful production, Darrin!  The video is a bit long, however, the prize at the end is well worth it!  On the road to Serfdom? Perhaps….  I am now inspired to re-explore The Constitution of Liberty over the holidays. Wunderbar –  Hab SpaB!  :-)

This video shows many contradictions regarding the recent brew-ha-ha on security measures at airports in the U.S. – although funny, this characterization raises many real concerns and questions about the recent TSA debacle…

Please take a few moments to watch this patriotic video which is a “must See” and brought tears to my eyes.  WE are all Americans and should be proud of OUR accomplishments, innovation, massive giving worldwide, and Liberty & Freedom that is envied, feared and praised….   Gene Simmons and KISS – You Rock!  :-)

Johnny Carson\’s Candidate Lie Detector

This video from 1982 is a classic Carson spoof on political candidates.  It exaggerates the flaws, lies and half-truths that politicians expose on the stump.  Regardless of political ideology,  I believe that everyone will be able to get a few laughs out of this iconic skit.  Johnny Carson was “one of a kind” and a comedic gem who is surely missed.  I often wonder what type of satire he would be creating in today’s political climate???   Enjoy, and let the “DC Follies”  begin – tis’ the Politico Season…  Priceless!   :-)

“Waiting for Superman” receives great reviews from both the Left and the Right after its opening last friday. Kudos to Director, Davis Guggenheim, (An Inconvenient Truth which I was not a big fan of) for directing this eye-opening documentary…. The sad truths about our education system are revealed and discussed.
